Couple discussing wills and beneficiary nominations
Estate planning is how you decide who receives super, insurance and other assets, and who can act if you cannot. A will on its own does not control super. Binding nominations, ownership, and powers of attorney have to match the will, or the money can go elsewhere.
This service is for parents, blended families, business owners, and anyone who has not looked at beneficiaries since they changed jobs or had a child.
We work alongside your solicitor. We do not draft legal documents. We make sure the financial pieces, especially super and insurance, will actually follow the plan.
The work
Binding and non-binding nominations, who can receive super, and what happens if a nomination has lapsed.
Who owns the policy, who is nominated, and whether a lump sum would land in the estate or outside it.
Making sure the will, the house, and the super instructions tell the same story, then referring you to a solicitor for the documents.
Who can manage money and super if you cannot, including for an SMSF trustee.
Children from previous relationships, new partners, and the conflict that creates if nominations are left on default.

The process
Who you want to provide for, what you already have in place, and whether nominations are still valid.
We map super, insurance, the home and other assets against your intended beneficiaries.
Financial changes in writing, and a clear brief for your solicitor on the legal documents still needed.
Nominations lapse. Families change. We revisit when you have a child, separate, or start a pension.
Fit
You have a will but have never checked super beneficiaries.
You are in a blended family or have children from a previous relationship.
You have an SMSF and need the trustee and estate instructions to match.
You have recently married, separated, or had a child.
You want insurance proceeds to reach a partner or children without a delay in the estate.
Try the numbers
Estate instructions only work if there is money to follow them. Sketch life and TPD cover against what you already have, then talk through ownership and nominations.
FAQ
Usually not by itself. Super is paid under fund rules and your nomination. A lapsed or missing nomination can send money to dependants the will did not name. We check the nomination, not only the will.
45 minutes, no obligation. Bring your will if you have one, and any super beneficiary letters.
